My machine has been acting funny for the past couple of days, so I checked/cleaned/tightened the belts- that seemed to help, until today a piece of material came up from its clamps and the machine crashed, it was caught very fast as I was sitting right next to it and saw it happen, but after that moment the machine would no longer initialize. I tried cleaning the wheels and belts and as I was blowing out from behind the Z axis where the router is a tiny piece of a screw flew out- not sure if it’s the grub screw or what it is, doesn’t seem large enough. I am not even sure how to attach a picture with this post for reference… Anyways, any idea on how to proceed with this issue?
Problem sorted it was a pulley screw from the wheel inside the motor on the z axis. Whew… what a scare.
Many people replace the tiny set screws (3MM) with 3MM cap screws that are about 10MM long. The cap screw has a bigger head so is less likely to strip out.
