I am about to order a 4XL and want to mount it to a portable bench that I will try to put wheels on one end to make it possible for a one man move. I live in two places, each for about 6 months out of the year. The specs for the XL show 16 x 33 but the “footprint” says 50 x 24. I would like to have the table built before the machine arrives. What size tables are any of you using for an XL machine? I was thinking of building a 36 wide x 24 deep top but now I wonder if that will work. Why does a 33" wide machine need 50"? I must be missing something. Thank you for any input or advice.
The 16" x 33" is the working area — the machine needs an additional 8.5" or so to either side of the working area for the rails and gantry plates, and an extra 8" at the back for the rail and gantry plates.
