Are there specifications for Nomad 3 absolute xy position repeatability? has anyone independently measured and posted results? this would be repeatability through power cycling.
ie
power on
initialize
rapid move to particular x,y
zero an indicator against the spindle
job spindle away
power off / on / initialize
move back to xy
check indicator

Position repeatability should be very good — what sort of numbers are you seeing and how are you measuring?

I have not measured the machine repeatability (yet).
What do you mean by “very good”? less than 0.001" ?
The repeatability over power cycles depends on homing switches. The x and y and z are persistant over power cycles on all c3d modern machines. If you are requiring 0.001 inch repeatability then you will need to use rapid positions to go to x and y and check it after every power cycle. The z can b checked by moving to z plus 6mm and make a 6mm spacer to check.
During current power cycle coordinates are stable.
