When doing 3D carves should I be using something other than the basic G Code for post processor. Please keep in mind I have zero G Code skills so totally dependent on CC Pro to generate what I need.
The post-processor should be set to “Carbide 3D Shapeoko” under Edit | Select Post-processor.
If you are using Carbide Create Pro and a Shapeoko 5 Pro controlled by Carbide Motion, you don’t have to write out G-code as a .nc file — instead, just send the .c2d file.
If you have a C3D machine then Shapeoko/Nomad, depending on which machine you have. If you have a 3rd party machine with CC Pro then generic or basic gbrl. The C3d machines post processor enables the use of the Bitseter which is required for advanced vcarves. No reason for gcode when using CM but if you use a 3rd party gcode sender then you need gcode files. Starting with CC v7 the gcode is encrypted inside the .c2d file which only CM can read. 3rd party gcode senders cannot handle .c2d files. They need .nc or other gcode text files. Not sure if 3rd party gcode senders can handle BitZero and/or Bitsetter.
