Pro BitSetter head

While I wait for replacement parts, I was going over my pro and I noticed that BitSetter is recessed and not flat.

This appears to be different than the normal BitSetter which got me wondering, is this by design?

Can another pro owner share what it looks like on their device?

I am going to go out on a limb and guess that there are going to be replaceable tops in case one is damaged, or you need to put a larger button top on for a specialty bit. I would go through your packaging and see if you have a random looking disc.

Check the packaging…I seem to remember @wmoy saying they have a replaceable cap now.

The solid button is an older design. New ones have a replaceable button, which is just a disc magnet. Like 11-ish mm in diameter. Meant to be replaceable because people sometimes forget to turn off their routers and then have to live with the shame of a damaged button forever. If it cannot be found in the box, just contact support.

I’ve found is that the magnet comes off every time I measure using one of the solid probes that came with the BitZero v2. I’m gonna have to find a way to stick it down.

Just be careful not to stick it too good. It is replaceable.

Yep, probably going to use a tiny dab of tacky poster putty or something. It’s very annoying to have to reset it every time.

Have you tried flipping it over? Likely you have, but an idea.

Yep, due to the magnets it only fits one way without repelling.

Winston is broken. I didn’t think ‘ish’ was in his vocabulary. 11mm x 2m is the magic number.

This is one of the many ongoing revisions and is designed to be replaced if you drive a bit lightly into your BitSetter

I’ve never seen a two meter thick magnet, that has to be quite the sight.

Hmmm, anyone got the urge to calculate the flux density (Gauss) of that magnet
