Just started with CNC - has a 3018 machine.
Have found Carbide Create as a good program and UGS from Mac to machine.
So far so good.
But - then I will add my own bits to the tool library.
Ie create a library - ok
Enter v-bit - ok
Inserting straight bits - problem !!
Adds type / text ok
Adds cut diameter - ok
But then it’s stop - do not get past there.
Anyone done this successfully?
Hi @Nielsen,
Apart from this tool library issue, are you able to create shapes in Carbide Create and adjust their sizes from the dimension input fields ?
The reason I am asking is because Carbide Create is not internationalized, and expects “.” as the decimal separator, maybe you have “,” declared as the standard decimal separator in your OS ? (happened to me initially).
Thanx for Your reply
I am aware of the problem with . and ,
So i have changed to USA setting.
But that did not help.
New tools that is V tool works fine
But when it is straight tools - and the cursor step to angel - where it shal be zero - it greyes out -
Sorry for my bad english - hope it is possible to understand what i mean ![]()
My understanding is it is not being able to change that angle which is the cause of this difficulty.
Please try creating a new user account, setting the decimal separator, then installing and running the program.
Yesssss - that was the right medicine ![]()
Thank you so much ![]()
