I’ve got a Shapeoko cnc. I’m not sure of the model, but it looks like a 4. It has mechanical limit switches and uses a TinyG v8 controller. I cannot get this thing to be seen by Carbide motion software. I downloaded carbine motion from your website. I tried reflashing the TinyG with latest firmware (on tinyG page) and new cables etc etc. Nothing I do will let carbide motion see it . Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Carbide Motion only connects to Carbide 3D controllers.
If you have TinyG, then you will need to use a program which communicates with that.
A Shapeoko 3 or 4 should have a sticker identifying it, and a Carbide Motion Machine Control Board.
If you’ll post photos of your machine we may be able to assist.
Thanks for your reply Sir. I took some pictures of what I have so that you can see. It only lets me put one picture at a time though.
That looks to be a Shapeoko 3 XXL with belt-drive.
If the controller has been replaced, we have originals at:
It looks like you are sold out of the shapeoko 3 boards. Will a 4 board work on my cnc? Or do you know when you will have the right one in stock? Thanks
The 4/Pro use Micro-Fit connectors, different than the Molex-KK connectors used by the Shapeoko 3.
Contact sales@carbide3d.com and we’ll let you know the status of our getting replacements for sale.
The connectors from the steppers have been removed on my cnc. This TinyG board uses screw clamp type connections. So i’d have to put molex back on the wires or micro fit connectors.
Micro-Fit requires special/expensive crimping tools, so an SO3 board and Molex-KK is far more affordable/approachable.
