I have a project that I designed in Carbide Create, and am having problems running it on my CNC machine with the created G-Code. My machine is a Sainsmart 3018PRO, and the problem that I am having is that when I start running the job on my machine the spindle spins very briefly as it moves to the starting point. The spindle then stops and lowers the bit onto the wood and begins moving over the surface as though it thinks it is carving with the spindle spinning. When I viewed the original G-Code in either Candle or NC Viewer there was a line, I think it was either 5 or 6, the specified a tool change and would cause the job to hang up. When viewing the G-Code I was able to delete the line and save the corrected G-Code. This has happened in the past with projects and deleting this line was all that was needed to run the project and have it completed properly. I’m at a loss as to why there is a problem this time.
This should be a function of which post-processor you are using.
Do you have a known good file from your manufacturer?
If you’re using Pro, compare that to the G-cod output using Basic G-code.
I am using Basic G-Code, and have tried other files that I have created the same way and have successfully completed in the past and they still finish without any issues. When I view the G-Code of a known good file and compare the beginning of the code to the code of my current project I don’t see any differences that should cause a problem.
If you can’t see a difference, please check in w/ tech support for the folks who make your machine or software — hopefully they can resolve this.
Thanks for the suggestion. I have done that and am waiting to hear back from them.
are you using carbide create to create your g-code ?? If so what version
