I know this has been discussed here before but I can’t find it anywhere. In carbide create library I’ve noticed a lot of the images have open vectors, which are shown with purple lines if I’m correct. How does one go about closing all the vectors so the purple lines disappear? I have cut and then joined but it is a tedious process when practically 1/2 to 3/4 of the lines are purple. Seems like once I cut and join, it causes another line to go purple. I’m a little confused. Could someone give me a little advice on the matter. Thanks.

If you’ll let us know the specific file you are having difficulty with we can look into it with you.
The ones in question are in the Christmas category. The directional signs, the penguin, the Santa head all have purple lines or open vectors in them. I have noticed many images in all categories that have open vectors. I watched the tutorial on the Seabee image, that seems like a lot of work. Would be nice if a user could click on an image in the library and it would be ready for use without spending time to close a bunch of vectors. Thanks for the quick reply Will. I appreciate it. I’ll try again and see if I can figure it out.
There are multiple ways to cut. If you’re pocketing or V-carving they need to be closed. But etching or engraving doesn’t care if they are open. If the template was initially intended for contour toolpaths then it is “ready to use “
Could you provide the links to files at:
https://elements.carbide3d.com/category/christmas/
For which this is a problem?
When I downloaded:
https://elements.carbide3d.com/category/christmas/christmas_penguin_1.svg/
it has one open vector:
but deleting it doesn’t change anything:
The two signs which I opened were fine.
It seems like the Christmas_Directional_Sign_2.svg when downloaded from the elements web site is different from the Christmas_Directional_Sign_2 that is imported using the Library>Show Library link within Carbide Create.
That was one of the signs I tried. I had some luck getting lines to connect, but others I could not.
If you haven’t already, import the .svg’s from the link @WillAdams pointed to above. They seem much better.
Thanks for all the help. I will download from the element sight and try them out.
