Reconfiguring cable "chains"

I’m finally starting to finish out my Pro 5 cabinet. Installed all the trim on it today (Butternut stained with dark walnut). As am installing all the electronics permanently, I would LIKE to change the side that the power cable is. You can see in the pic, the red circle. I want the power cable on the other end where the store is pointing. I’m thinking that the whole chain assembly would also have to be reversed, but that would mean both the chains would be attached on the same end. So… will this work, or will the chains push each other off or something weird that I don’t know of?

By the way, here’s the cabinet in its current state. Drawers, shelves, holders for the BitZero and the Rii keyboard coming next.

It should work — except the reason for the opposing pair is to minimize EMI.

Why not forgo the drag chain for the spindle wiring and run it up along the vacuum hose?

Physically it would work but I thought the reason was for potential EMI as Will points out. I am in the same process of looking to move the spindle power cord to allow the mounting of the VFD to the right side next to the C3D controller. It’s either that or I am going to make an extension for the pause button on the VFD to relocate it up front and print out a button to cover the hole on the VFD.
