RIP Carbide Compact Router

Carbide Compact Router passed away unexpected this morning. He was a hard worker and will be missed. He leaves behind a Shapeoko Pro XXL and a young family of end mills.

@WillAdams I think it was my fault. So I went ahead and purchased a new router. Very fitting that the little guy passed away on Halloween.

@WillAdams Does the bitrunner v2 work with Makita routers. I asked because the replacement Makita router dose spin up when connect my bit runner v2?

Yes, the BitRunner will drive anything which is plugged into it — all it does is switch power on/off to the outlet.

I figured as much. I’ll check with the configuration in the morning.

I bought a used so3 xl. The c3d router had a bad lower bearing that made the spindle wooble. I bought a Makita for the xl. My so3xxl has a Dewalt that has performed quite well. The Makita can run slightly slower. I like both.

I have a spare Dewalt in case this happens to me

after being half way thru a 3D carve and my bushes went out on a Sunday morning i try to keep a spare for everything

Two is one; and one is none, isn’t that how the ol’ saying goes?
