Not sure if this is an issue anyone has run into but when i went to unscrew the router brush cap to change out the brushes on my c3d router for the first time, some of the threads on the plastic cap broke off. I managed to somewhat screw it back in but i dont think it will survive many brush changes. Anyone have any thoughts on aquiring a new cap?
Go over to Home Depot where they sell Makita. On the display unscrew one of the display model caps and stick it in your pocket. Just kidding. Since the C3D is a clone of the Makita you can likely buy a Makita cap on sites like ereplacementparts or another part reseller or maybe even Makita.
In the mean time put a wrap or two of electrical tape around the brush holders to keep it from popping off and causing more damage.
Here’s a link to a cheaper option than what Guy initially suggested, https://www.ereplacementparts.com/brush-cap-p-1054.html
