I have a question on the drag chain length. While putting together my Shapeoko 5 today I just took the two drag chains and installed them with the router cable. Afterwards I noticed the manual says to use the longer drag chain on the Y rail. This was not stated originally when it said to lay them out next to each other. They look the same but perhaps one is a tad longer. Did I possibly make a mistake here? I appreciate the help with this. Looking forward to my first carve tomorrow.
Which size machine do you have?
I have the 4x4 model. Also meant to say the y axis was supposed to be shorter. Hoping it doesn’t matter on my model. Thanks
If I remember correctly my two drag chains were exactly the same which makes sense due to the X & Y axis being 48”. The 2x4 machine would show the different lengths.
