Sanding...done before?

On the same topic essentially.but instead of sanding, has anyone done polishing. I was thinking about after flattening a resin table, using it for a polishing

I have made several epoxy river tables and the problem with polishing the resin you are also getting the polish on the wood. I used oil based Minwax wiping polyurethane after sanding to 400 and the epoxy was very nicely shinny. If you entire piece is resin polishing to 4000 grit is practical but on mixed media projects could be problematic.

This is a clock that was epoxy filled on the numbers. I covered it with MAS table top epoxy.

This is the river table.

The table top was mesquite with deep pour epoxy. It came out really good with just polyurethane over the top. Before the finish was applied it was dull as dish water.
