Save file to PNG file format

I’m using CC version 777.

I desire to save a project file I’m creating, (eg a car image), to a png format so I can send it to a friend to view what I’m doing. I tried Export PNG but when I go to open the file in my folder…no images are present. Any suggestions to a solution?

Thanks

The Export to PNG feature exports the 3D model as a depth map.

To get a preview of how the job will cut do a 3D preview then make a screen grab.

I too am using CC Pro and have been trying to create a .png image of my 2D work but am getting nothing but a black space in Windows Explorer preview, and no image when opening the file in Paint. Am I doing something wrong? Build 773, 4/17/24.

To clarify on what Will is saying, export PNG is meant to output an image that captures 3D data. If you have a 2D project and you are not using the 3D “Model” tab in Create Pro, it will export nothing. You’re not doing something wrong per se, you’re just expecting a tool to do something it’s not meant to do.

Your best options are to just take a screenshot, or export an SVG of your design to share. Most browsers can show SVGs so you should be able to share it with anyone. Or you can use a program like Illustrator or Inkscape to shade in your exported SVG so it doesn’t look like just an outline, and then export that in your desired image format.

Thank you Winston. That’s what I did, take the screen shot and it worked fine.
