I finally ordered a Shapoko 5 Pro.
I am trying to learn the carbide create software while I wait for my machine to arrive. When I try to save a drawing, I get a popup that says I don’t have permission to save a file. What am I doing wrong?
CC can has had problems if any part of the path has accented or other, non-us characters in it. What is your system language set to, and are there any odd characters in the path or filename?
There are a LOT of computer terms I don’t know. If you are asking what languge I am reading on my computer, I can only read, write, and speak English. I named the file diamond. Here is how it is trying to save the file.
C:\Program Files\CarbideCreateV7\diamond.c2d
You are trying to save the file where the program itself lives, and that’s not allowed. Pick a new location under ‘Documents’, and you should be good to go.
OK. Thanks for the help.
Since you are new to this you want to develop a file system for all the items you will accumulate for the C3D machines. I have a desktop folder CNC_Router. In that folder I have several folders like images, Project_files), installers, etc. Over time you will collect a lot of things for the CNC so make a plan and implement it. It will help when looking for things. In addition to Project_files I have a subfolder in there that is One_Time_Jobs. That way over time my list of .c2d files does not go so big. The addition of One time projects helps when you do something that is not likely to be repeated. It is easier to organize from the beginning than reorganize later.
Sorry for the slow reply. My job has me leaving on Monday morning and getting back home on Friday. Many weeks i don’t access the internet when I’m gone.
That sounds like a good plan.
I ordered my cnc on Saturday and it arrived on Wednesday. That was fast. I had it shipped to the shop at work and it arrived with a big hole in the box. Many people in videos I have watched say they package everything really well and when I unboxed it, everything was fine.
