Hi Guys, I’m very new. Just got my machine running two days ago. I was hearing a strange noise, but being new was not even certain it is abnormal.
Starting looking around and found both screws out in the picture below. Only 1 screw was on the table and I’m unable to find the other one. It must have gone missing before this point.
I have about 4 hours of total work time on the machine. Can I just screw it up tight or could there be further issues with alignment or something?
The other day, while noticing some rattling noise, I took out my allen wrench and tightened all the screws on the z axis. One rotated almost 5 turns. Then, since I had the tool out, I started checking all the other bolts of that size, and found a bunch that needed a little extra. Long-term I wonder if it would be a good idea to use some blue threadlocker.
Yeah, I will also add lock tight or something. The machine seems ok now, but have only done a small project. Will update during the week after a more demanding job.
Obviously the two y rails weren’t in sync while the screws were out, so I’m not sure if it is as simple as tightening it up and get on with it.
The answer from support was that everything should be fine so I guess luckily no major problem.
I did read on the forums while installing to check the screws. I did check most of the ones on the top but didn’t look down there.
Anyway, good lesson so I will check the machine regularly.
