Second and First Wood Spoon

I made my first and second wooden spoon today. Working toward a Valentine’s day gift.

!

First spoon had some registration issues. It is the one on the right.

I have been having a hard time figuring out how to model this in Fusion 360. Sat down at lunchtime and sketched out an idea that I thought would be easy to model.

!

I managed to create the model, but it took all afternoon. I am hoping I learned something and the next one will go faster.

!

I decided to use registration pins the second time around. And it seemed to work pretty well.

!

It is 2" wide, 3.5" long, and according to the math will hold 2 Tablespoons. I am hoping it is the right size for measuring out Coffee grounds.

Oooh–a coffee related product! Verrrrrrrynice!

First few models I tried to start in fusion ended up being a disaster. Just learning all the knobs took a while. Even after I’ve been able to build models reasonably fast, I’m still learning a lot about how to do so and take the most advantage of parametrics and the various CAM options.
