What is sequence of operation using V8? I started to use then realized it was different than V7. Can I get sequence of operations from time power is turned on to when do I set zero’s , load program etc. I’m using the latest carbide motion.
v8 is Carbide Create, and nothing has changed UI-wise in it beyond appearance and some bug fixes and some new features.
The pages on it at:
should be pretty much up-to-date on the changes (except for some screen grabs which will need to be re-made) — if not, let me know.
That said, the sequence is as described at:
- set up a file in Carbide Create: Job Setup
- draw or import a design representation in Carbide Create: Shapes (and the following tutorials)
- assign toolpaths: Types of Toolpaths
- verify the 3D simulation: Toolpath Simulation
- save out as a .c2d file
- initialize your machine using Carbide Motion: Carbide Motion Machine Control Software
- secure your stock: Workholding - Carbide 3D
- set zero relative to it: Movements and Zeroing
- load the file, verify the preview: Machine Motion | Design into 3D
- start the job, monitoring it, changing tools as requested, removing/replacing/adjusting the dust shoe as appropriate, &c.

Have you read through that?
As Will said, Carbide Create 8 does not change how you use the software vs 7. Do you perhaps mean Carbide Motion v6 vs the previous version? (That’s what I’m guessing based on you talking about setting zeros…)
