Set Current Zero Position

My question is that I am tiling on the x axis. The first 24" cut is cutting off the left corner of the material and using an overlap. The second cut starts at the 24" position to make the second cut. I would like to know why in the set current position when you click in the window a keypad pops up. If I was to enter the number to move to that position, why does it not work? I feel that would be a great way to move the router that position for the next cut. Then just click on done and there you go!
If there is someone that knows why that keypad is there and what is it good for.
Thanks
Lance

I think that is the “Enable touch screen” setting. It signifies that you are on a tablet & don’t have a numpad. If you disable touch screen then you can just click in the field & type a number.

Thank you for your reply. I am using Vectric desktop that limits you to 24" cut. I am making an Adirondack chair on my XL tiling the parts that are over that limit. I can tile the arm at 29" on the X axis with a cut of 24" and the second cut a 5" since the cut area on the XL is 33". It would be nice to move the router on the X axis to 2nd cut position by using the motion software and enter the value that would start the router in that position to start the next cut rather than move it manually and set the software to zero and start.
I know that I am dreaming about moving the router from the software but that is why some ideas become a reality.

Not sure about Vectric, but does the zero point have be within the 24x24" envelope?
Could you cut the 24", then move your zero 5-6" to the left & cut the remaining 5"?

Something like this (In CC)

Otherwise, you’d have to just move your zero between cuts.

Yes, I can cut the file just fine. Vectric has a tile feature that allows to overlap the cuts by how much you want maybe .5 inches on the left side so when I cut the right side there is now gap when it cuts.
My question is that when in motion it would be nice that when a person wants to cut the right side, you could enter a value in the set zero screen that would move the router to that position so you would not have to move it manually with the keyboard. Then that would be the zero position to start the next cut accurately and not just assume it is close to where to cut.
So why does motion allow to put in values in the zero box when it does nothing?

This doesn’t do nothing, it sets the current position to whatever you enter.

If you are sitting at 0,0,0 and you want to move your zero 5" to the left, you would enter “5.0” in the X field & hit enter. Now if you look at the X value on the readout, it says 5.000
