Setting "width" of a "cutout"

When using the cutout toolpath, how do you set the width? I would expect it to just use the width of the tool but…

I’ve set the tool a 1/8" spiral bit, and would expect it to just cut a 1/8" line, but it appear to do either a 1/3" or 1/4" width cut, and does two “loops” for each depth.

It switches to a double path if you’re likely to end up slotting too deep, which can lead to broken cutters, or other shenanigans.

If you just want to cut the width of the tool (‘slotting’), you can use a contour cut.

To cut a specific width, do ‘Offset Vectors’ of that width, then do a pocket between those vectors.

It uses the default stepover, which is the radius of the tool, so your slots are 3/16" wide.
The default stepover is hard-coded, and the tool menu in cutout won’t let you change it.
