Machine has connection to the computer I can get as far as the initialize home sensors I hit initialize it’ll travel to home I get all three lights xyz but it won’t give me the option to move past that screen I’ve checked and adjusted all sensors. I’ve tried older CM versions but I get the same on all machine is dead in the water until I get this fixed. I sent video and pictures with all my info to support through email and once he seen it was homing I haven’t had a response back. Any suggestions
Not seeing an open ticket under your name.
If the machine initially homes correctly but can’t be used the usual culprit is enabling a BitSetter but not configuring and saving the position, see:
I think it was spelling my last name with a y like Snyder but it’s actually Snider. I’ll check it out I’m sure I’ve tried it both ways though. Thanks for the info.
Found it, it was assigned to someone rather than in the open queue.
Do you have an HDZ (black and silver motor w/ captive at bottom ball-screw) or Z-Plus (black motor w/ lead-screw w/ stop post at bottom)?
Make sure that you are selecting the correct Z-axis and so forth when configuring.
I have the hdz on this machine
I have officially gave up on this I’ve tried everything I have been asked to try but still no fix
We asked a couple of questions and are still waiting on answers.
One potential concern is your machine seems to have an older HDZ which pre-dates Carbide 3D — I’m adding that to your notes and checking to see if there’s anything else which we can check.
Not sure how old it is I bought it from an individual so I’m not sure what version of CM he was running I know he was using it because I seen it work but not sure what could be going on now I’ve bypassed the sensors with the g code and tried that but it still won’t initialize in setup
When you bypass the homing switches does the machine move as expected?
The first video you sent in seems to show normal homing.
When you get blocked when intializing in the Setup Wizard what happens?
Usually one downloads settings, intitializes:
and then after the machine finishes initializing the “Next” button becomes active so that one can click to move to the next page.
Everything seems normal it’s just not giving me the next button
As noted, we’ve escalated your ticket and are looking into the specifics at our end.
In the meanwhile, which version(s) of Carbide Motion have you tried?
Please try the new beta:
https://carbide3d.com/carbidemotion/beta
then try builds 622 and 582:
https://carbide3d.com/downloads
and let us know what you find out at support.
I’ve tried 582 622 640 644
I’m getting this now with the beta version
That’s something which you should look into with the folks on support.
Ok idk when I’ll be able to get with them again during business hours due to my work. But I appreciate the help I’m just wondering if the control board isn’t bad because it won’t take certain g codes like the command to turn the spindle on M3s15000
Not sure this is helpful but I have an older 3XXL with older HDZ. To be perfectly honest have never had any luck with the Carbide software. For running the machine I have been using UGS for years (I use Vcarve for design). I have experimented with CNCjs and it works but never warmed up to the UI. So personally I would look for alternatives to Carbide Motion.
Could you give me some basic on how to set it up
The Grbl folks have a list of various other communication/control programs:
UGS is mature and its easy to setup. Just download the install package from:
Universal Gcode Sender Downloads
I usually use the Platform version which is the newest version. Only thing I do after the install is set-up a desktop shortcut and change the icon to the one supplied in the package. As I recall the automatic zeroing takes a little fiddling but I haven’t used it in a while.
If you do end-up using UGS I would recommend doing some UI customization. It has a lot of different ways to arrange the screen and the default layout isn’t the most intuitive for me.
