Shapeoko 3XXL Zplus - fails to initialize

Hello - we bought a used Shapeoko 3XXL with the Zplus. The controller board was dead. I installed the replacement today and am trying to get the machine running.

In Carbide Motion, the machine does not pass setup initialization. Manually, i had moved the router to the front left. When I start the initialization process, the router moves to the right. It does not move on the Y and the Z does not lift. Sometimes, the router does not move all the to the limit switch on the X.
Generates either grbl alarm 8 or alarm 9.

Tested the limit Carbide Motion also shows the correct limit switches activate.

I verified again that all the wires are ok (except in the chain) and connectors (all labeled) match the markings on the board).

Did you send the correct machine configuration?

Is all the wiring as expected? The motor wiring connectors should all be consistent for color order/orientation and all the wiring extensions straight through.

I looked up up the differences between models and Z options. And then did it again to be sure I selected the correct profile in the wizard app

Where are the config files stored by carbide motion?

I am going to recheck all the wiring.

If you click on the version number in CM you will get a dialog box w/ an “Open Data Directory” button which will take you to the files.

Contact us at support@carbide3d.com and we’ll help you puzzle this out.

Thank you.
Your support is stellar

On the gantry, the Z motor was plugged into the X controller, and the X to the Z.

It’s moving nicely now. I am looking forward to learning more and sharing that knowledge. Plus making cool $$ things.

Thank u for everyone that shares here. It truly helps us. :v:
