Shapeoko 4 Hybrid Table Buzzes during intialization

Dear Community
I wanted to pass this tip down. I have had my S4 for 7 months now and have enjoyed making numerous projects with it. I like to think I am getting pretty good at it. During an initialization I notice a loud vibrating buzzing sound when first meeting the X-sensor. I finally figured the sound was generating from my Hybrid Table. It seemed that every one of the screws that hold the MDF slats had become loose. I retighten all the screws and initialized once again. That did the trick, no vibrating buzzing sound. The tip is: you might want to retighten the bed screws every now and then, they will become loose.

I’ll throw out another unusual noise on my pro xxl that I discovered recently. After I had tuned up my machine, I was getting a plastic-y rubbery squeaking sound as the machine was initializing and finding it’s home in the back right… usually for the last six inches of travel.

For a bit, I thought it was the attached vacuum hose being stretched a little, but upon closer inspection, found that it was one of the belts. When I had tightened and tuned the belts, The belt on the right y-rail wasn’t perfectly centered in the attachment buckle at the end, it was off to the side of the slot in the buckle, and this was causing the belt to rub against the lipped end of the gear on the right side stepper motor. It wasn’t enough to cause an issue, just to rub and make an unexpected noise. Easily fixed by centering the belt on the buckle.

Use blue locktite blue, it will hold the screws but allow them to be removed, locktite red will be pretty permanent so stick with the blue or use nail varnish

I have a calendar on my wall, yes I am that old. I have every third Wednesday marked to check my machine. As in all screws. Have yet to find any issues, it never hurts to check.

Also I clean everything. I mean everything. Found a little bit of oxidation on my grounding points, so added NoOx under the mating surfaces.
