Shapeoko 4 vacuum and spindle

I was wondering how to you hook up your shop vac and bitrunner v2 so that it turns on and off both the vac and spindle. Any help would be great thanks

I have my BitRunner plugged into the power outlet on my Festool CT Midi — when the switch is set to “Auto” (I have an older unit w/ a physical switch) it powers up.

I have the V2 bitsetter and it doesnt have a switch. I just dont know where to plug stuff into. Thanks

The switch I mentioned is on the Festool CT Midi — the setup I describe works w/ both a v1 and v2 BitRunner (I move the vacuum back and forth).

I just have a regular shop vac

Folks have also used a power sensing switch/relay such as is used for woodworking power tools.

I use this with my Bitrunner and Vacuum.

That vacuum switch is a great way to go because it’ll add a delay for the vacuum.

Do not try plug the spindle and vacuum into a bitrunner so they get turned on at the exact same time. That’s asking for trouble.

Exactly. The delay start helps with onrush current, and the delay stop allows time for the vacuum lines to clear.
