Hello. New guy here who has a S4xl assembly question. Are all the standoffs that hold the y axis in the upright position supposed to be the same length? I have 4 that were pre installed and two that are longer that came in a plastic baggie that are longer or taller than the other 4 that I assume supposed to be installed on the back. Any help appreciated.
Please send pictures of what you have to support and we’ll get it figured out ASAP.
Hope u can see the pic. The ones on the back are longer. Other 4 are the same.
I’m not seeing any open tickets under your name at support@carbide3d.com — please write in there and send the photos and we’ll do our best to get things sorted out with you there.
I just emailed support with pics.
I just looked to see if there is an installation manual on the carbide 3d site for the SO4 but did not see one. Any chance you have a printed document for the installation guide? If you do skip to where you mount the controller likely near the very end because if it’s like the Shapeoko Pro model there are 2 of those standoffs to attach it to the Y-Rail. Maybe the longer (or shorter) ones, whichever there are only 2 of are for mounting the controller.
I did find the video of Winston’s “How to Assemble the Shapeoko 4” video, not sure if you saw this but this may help as well.
Thanks for the replies! Support replied that the wrong standoffs were shipped.
We do not yet have PDF instructions, just the video.
Watching the video for the PRO XXL the extra two are for the controller board. That may be the case if the two machines are close in specs.
Update: I’m now assured I made the right decision going with the Shapeoko. Support is phenomenal. Thanks guys!
I had the same problem, they are all supposed to be the length of the longer ones, i just emailed support and got new ones within 3 days.
I am also a new Shapeoko 4 (XXL) owner and agree with you. The folks at support are responsive and very helpful!
As with most all new product launches, there will be some hick-ups, but having an on the ball support team is very much a great help! And very appreciated!
It’s refreshing to actually get a response via email. Rare these days. Can’t say enough good bout their support so far. I sincerely appreciate it.
