Why is the text in my Shapeoko XXl not working ?
In what way is it not working?
Carbide Create has a text tool which should allow you to use any font which is installed for all users on your computer.
What do you wish to do?
Note that if you are editing text, it must still be text — if it has been converted into paths it will need to be deleted and reset.
I know how the text should work, I have been using it. Today it just would not work, I drew a rectangle and I wanted to enter text on to it but a blue X appeared in the rectangle. In the simulation it just showed the X and would only cut the X when I ran it just to see what would happen.I was using V carve but text does not work in Contour either.I have the machine just over a week and every day there is some new glitch.The machine works other wise I cut out a couple of shapes in contour ok. I bought the machine to make signs and I will not make many signs without Text.Thank you for replying.

Your machine glitches are operator error. As you learn more things will improve. Unfortunately everyone must go through the learning curve on a new machine there could be a few sprinkles of real glitches but the majority of glitches are on beginning operators lack of understanding. Post your issues here or contact support and hang in there.
Thanks, I have made a few mistakes thats for sure.When I make a mistake in Carbide Create it would be great if you could just undo it the undo in edit does not work, but I suppose it is not that big of a deal to X out and start again.If I make few mistakes I would not need an undo button I suppose. Thanks again.
It’s ok problem solved.
Ctrl Z does undo. Have you tried that.
