Trying to go through the tutorial and stuck on configuring the bitsetter video tut.
Finally got the replacement parts for a missing part and a damaged part, and since the VFD spindle came I installed that as well. So on to the tutorial! First time I tried to initialize, the spindle got to the back right (good so far) but when I tried to jog (on fast) it nudged a little then it won’t budge. Went to settings>machine>load default>4x4. Now it moves. Yay! I tried configuring the bitsetter. The first time it was working until it slammed the bit setter and won’t go up, EMERGENCY STOP. Saw the mysterious baggie (front plate extension) that was sent separately and realized that it was different than the one I installed (the green and black wires were swapped) so I replaced that after turning the machine off.
Went through initialization again, and this time when it tried to touch the bit setter, It drops almost an inch then stops: “Probing Cycle Failed” Just for Shit and Giggles I tried it multiple times, resetting, send config data, even tried my hand on using BitZero… nope. “Probing Cycle Failed” Anyone else ran into this issue?
Is your bitzero connected, and the magnet touching the conductive surface on the bitzero?
If the S5Pro is like the nomad, they may have re-used the same pin for both of those devices, so if the bitzero is shorting it will cause bitsetter probes to fail. (happened to me once)
I just figured it out. Carbide3d also sent a new bitsetter extension - I thought it was an extra since they “looked” the same but again, the black and green wire was also swapped. They don’t add a note that they messed up the wiring and assume you’ll figure it out. Eventually. Unless you already committed hara-kiri because you’ve been trying to figure it out for the last 8 hours and have lost your freakin’ mind!
