Shapeoko and the cnc4neabie Z Slider

I just installed the cnc4newbie Z slider for the Shapeoko. 1 question, How hard should the Z plate slide up and down on the linear rails WITH OUT any motor attached? Mine is very stiff. I am not sure if it’s too tight or not.

Is it a leadscrew? It will be difficult. They are not meant to be back driven.

I had one, it was pretty stiff.
