I’m considering upgrading the spindle on my Shapeoko HDM with the ambition of cutting steel.
There are spindles available that will put me in the range of cutting steel. But then the question becomes, are the stepper motors strong enough and is the machine rigid enough to handle the forces.
Unfortunately, Carbide3D seldom offers detailed specifications. Anyone know the linear force specs on the HDM before the steppers start skipping?
