Morning guys, I sent this to C3D support and I’m waiting for a response, but I figured maybe someone else might have run into this problem and could help me expedite trouble shooting since I have a customer waiting on a project that I can’t finish up.
I ran the machine last night for a few hours with no issues. The machine was shutdown and power was shutoff both on the frame button and toggle switch. The power to the plug was still on (power strip). This morning I tried to start the machine up and it’s not working. The frame button is not illuminated and will not power the machine on. This machine also has the bit runner. The switch for the spindle control is also not functioning (no red light). I looked inside the board area and there is nothing illuminated. The power transformer does show green on the box indicating there is power to that. The bit runner box does show green for the CAT connection. I verified the router functioned on it’s own. My guess is the transformer is out or the board, but I wasn’t sure if you had a proper way to troubleshoot this to confirm what component exactly was at fault.
Check to make sure the plug into the transformer is completely seated. The other day may got pulled out a little bit (enough to not make contact) My Pro XL sits on a table and the transformer brick sits on the floor and i must of snagged the cable and pulled it out a little.
My Shapeoko Pro arrived last week and upon first power up, I had similar symptoms. I suspect either a bad power supply or controller. For my first power up, my Shapeoko power button briefly illuminated and went out and the LED on the power supply was dim. The LED on the power supply no longer comes on at all so clearly that’s toast now, but I don’t know if it’s JUST the power supply or if the controller was bad and took out the power supply. Waiting to hear back from support.
Total bummer, I’m eager to try the machine out and now have to wait for replacement parts and work it back into my schedule to finish setting it up again.
