Hi there, i got my shapeoko xxl set up. Now when i click initialize it goes through the probing cycle but when the Z drops it goes to low and starts studdering and says probing failed. Any ideas why this is happening?
What are you probing with and how are you performing the probe?
It sounds like you are using the Zero Probe Block without the clip / ground connected.

the Z is supposed to go up not down. common cause for this is having selected “HDZ” in carbide motion when you shouldn’t have (or other way around)
other pitfal when this happens without HDZ if you assembled the Z axis inverted left-to-right

maybe a clarifying question
is the homing working? (goes up, to right far corner)
or is the bitsetter probing failing?
(do you have a bitsetter, since if you don’t there shouldn’t be any probing as part of “initialize machine”)

I figured it out. My stupidity i had it set to having a probing device but i am doing it manually no device. Thanks for the help though!
