Shapoeko 5Pro Not being Detected

Hello everyone,
First time poster here in the forum! Pleased to talk with you all.
So, I am looking for information/suggestions on how I can get my computer to detect the Shapoeko 5Pro… I have tried a multitude of different things from swapping the controller, ferrite core USB cable, new EMO switch, swapping computers and redownloading the software. All without any success.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Love the machine… when it works.

Best regards,
Bruce

First up — is the SO5 Pro itself reliably getting power and staying powered up?

When connecting the computer to the machine, how is the USB cable arranged? I like to set it up so that there are weights at each end holding it unmoving, and have a coil from there to the connection so that the connector is being pushed in to the connection with a bit of tension. Post a photo?

If you are losing the connection while cutting, please try an “air cut” where you run a job which has disconnected w/o the vacuum or spindle on (and no stock in place) — let us know what happens.

Please also post an overall photo of your setup.

Thank you for the fast response.
A few images of the system are shown below… I hope that they have come through.
I built a table for the unit and have secured the connections as you see.

The machine is powered on in a reliable manner as the EMO (red twist button) turns the system on in a distinct manner. I should mention that the replacement controller I purchased was working for a short period of time until it lost comms mid way through a project.

The purchased controller should be under warranty — please check in w/ the folks at support@carbide3d.com and someone who is familiar w/ the SO5 will work through this with you.

In contact with them and working our way through the issue.
Thought I would reach out to the community to see if there were any additional learnings.
Greatly appreciate the time and attention. Have yourself a good weekend.

When the USB is connected, you should hear a bit of noise from the Controller for a short time (2 seconds). My PC USB connection is usually my problem.
The noise will happened during PC bootup before the OS comes up ( hardware handshake ).

I expect to see 0.0 on the Spindle display when not running but ready.
