Made from cherry(big one is from oak) and used an 1/8th inch square mill on my makita.

Nice. What did you use for the dark color in the cut areas and how did you apply it?
I used my air brush with black paint then re-sanded the top and then a few coats of Poly followed by some 600 grit sanding.
