Shop Info Hub (home kiosk type thing)

I have in my head an idea: I want to set up a monitor in the shop, and have it display several feeds: Camera feed from CNC and 3d printers, Current date/time/weather, and air quality levels. Bonus points for levels across the home too.

Ideally, this system would operate off a central device with a customizable interface, and several other wireless cameras, sensors, etc.

I’m familiar enough with raspberry Pi to know that I can set up small camera modules across the shop, and create a feed for them. I assume I can also do this with an air quality sensor. But i’m not sure how I would create that and link it in with the system.

I don’t know, however, how I would create the kind of display I want. I sketched out how I wanted the images laid out, and I’m pretty sure one of those raspberry pi home hubs could do it, but I don’t know where to start with that.

If anyone has any knowledge in this area, I’d love to pick your brain about it! Thanks!

Have you checked out Home Assistant? Maybe it can do what you’d like.

You know, I posted on another forum and the first comment there was also Home Assistant. It’s all I’ve thought about for 2 days straight. I’m chatting with someone on the HA forum about a setup, and it’s looking promising.

I’d be curious to know if there’s a way to tie in data from carbide, such as spindle speed, cut time remaining/elapsed, etc.
