Show lamb sign and title needing to be 15 characters is about to drive me over the edge

I am trying to make a sign with a raised letter name and 2.5 d pic of a show lamb. trying for hours and online videos never answer the specific questions I have. Can I take a pic of one, converter it to greyscale and send it to carbide create? Am I wasting my time? Do I need to pay for an image to 2.5 d it into the sign? I.E. fkn lost on this one. Want height of lamb to be height of letters for name. Contour the background. The laptop is about to be converted to a frisbee at this point.

What file format are you working with for the lamb image?

Could you upload it and let us know the specifics of what you are trying to do?

Something like this? If you share your image(s) more specific help will be possible.

I believe this video touches on this:

Not quite. Little more in depth. I have had some sleep now ill upload what I am trying to work with in a moment

slade 6

I used Vectric to do a Photo V-Carve, then did a line trace and V-carved out the remaining areas. The little square outline is very narrow and can easily be sanded off.

Better yes, interestingly now that I see that it looks less of what I am going for. This is to be a sign to put on a show stall when he goes to 4h shows and fairs. Not sure that is proper for what I want. Doesnt look like a stall sign really.

Removed Photo V-Carve
I added Multiple line traces using different threshold intensities.

Converted the image to an STL.

I adjusted it a little bit, and it looks better.

That looks really good. Let me ask, what tools are you showing to use? Possible i dont have the best tools for 3d?

A way to eliminate the dip in the photo and make the lamb height same as lettering?

And i did screw up, the name is Slayde that was me trying too hard too late at night

Yes. You just have to adjust the Z height in the modeling tab.
