Simulation not the same as the cut

I’m having issues when trying to create inlays using advanced vcarve in carbide create v8. even though the simulation looks fine, when i cut the wood it doesn’t replicate it. if you look at the A and the B, there are high spots where it doesn’t get cut. Anyone have any ideas?

This is what the simulation looks like

Can you share the CC (.c2d) file? And the .nc (g-code) file if using it.

of mice and men inlay.c2d (204 KB)
plug_vee.nc (242.6 KB)
plug_pocket.nc (140.6 KB)

Attached. I have to generate the gcode as 2 separate files, one pocket and one vee as my CNC doesn’t have a bit setter

The simulation clearly shows it cutting the centers of the B & A. They are near the end of the program, so maybe it just didn’t finish??

I agree that’s what’s so odd because the app showed it finish to completion in the logs without any skipped lines

Not sure why those 2 areas are not being cut out but… For the text you should group the letters and “Convert to Curves”. Maybe give a bit more spacing between the letters. More spacing will allow the cutter to get a bit deeper between the letters. There are uncut areas between the letters… again not sure if that will impact the inlay top gap or not. I typically use 110 spacing depending on how much room there is on the material.
