So I would like to add to mt pro 5 4x4 extra layer of MDF 3"X48"X 1/2" MDF
How can I surface it to 1/4" level which should give me a buffer on spoil board of + or - 1/2" so I dont cut into the T-tracks

that is fine but I am not going to use a V Bit or Mcfly
I will use this massive 1/2 amana CNC Spoilboard Router Bit Amana Tool RC-2255 - Surfacing & Planing
any other tips?
The instructions still apply from Will with the cutter you listed. It’s just a larger diameter and will surface the spoil board in a shorter time frame.
You will need to attach your top spoil board in some fashion. Most will counter sink bolt holes and use T-nuts. Once attached or bolted down you can then surface the new spoil board as you would for the original one.
If your matching strips which it seems you are by the measurements of 3”x48” by 1/2” thick you can use the files provided by C3D for replacements for the bolt holes and then just glue them on.
