So I really don’t want to have my newer Macbook Air in the workshop while I cut. I do have an older one that I thought would be perfect. I checked the program requirements, and it should be okay.
It connects, it initializes, but won’t rapid jog. I can do it manually. But even so, if I try to run a job, it goes all over the place, banging into the back of the machine, etc.
I’ve tried to uninstall and reinstall, but that doesn’t work either.
Any time you install Carbide Motion you must send the configuration. This mostly configures Carbide Motion to it knows what kind of machine you have. Connect but do not initialize and then go to Settings and uncheck the BitSetter, you will configure that later after initialization, uncheck the BitSetter and go to the first tab and select the machine and Z axis. The leadscrew is the Z-Plus and the Ballscrew is the HDZ. Then be sure to send configuration.
One last thing is when CM starts in the jogging the default is the smallest increment and sometimes people interpret that as not moving. If that is the case then simply + up to the fast speed and see if that helps.
