A couple of observation on Carbide Motion 659 after setting up a new tablet to run it.
I replaced a four year old Fusion5 tablet (4G ram, 64G ssd not upgradeable) with a Fusion5 Helios tablet (same 10 inch form factor, but 12G ram, 512 GB ssd)
(first an aside- I needed the smaller form factor to fit in the space in my shop, the scienci Gcontroller while looking neat is just kind of big for where I can fit things.
On setting up
Missed the bitsetter setup on first attempt- saw the enable bitsetter in the running in the settings window, but did not realize that just toggled enable/disable with no flag as to whether the set bitsetter position routine was done. (i was able to hit stop when it was looking for it pretty far back on the spoil board)
Reran the setup, and saw the bitsetter setup and did the routine.
when going through and having the save settings at varioius points (the white outlined buttons) there is not feedback that the button has been successfully pressed. A saved message, or at least a color change of the button or something to say it has been pressed. Some sort of feedback would be helpful. Since I am running on a relatively small tablet, and have fairly big fingers I sometimes am not sure of whether I hit the button or not.
Continuing on the small tablet issue, there is a fair amount of open real estate on the UI larger buttons for us in the fat fingered crowd would be nice.
The UI seems to be designed for the horizontal arrangement of the screen, it might be nice to have it work well for both orientations. It is an easier fit for my space to have it in the vertical arrangement. In that orientation some of the messages get truncated.

p.s.(adding as an edit) I think I’ve asked about this before, but it would be nice for me to have the position indicator in both metric and imperial since I switch back and forth depending on project and design tool I am using.
