I find that the “Spindle on” button in Carbide Motion won’t turn on the VFD spindle. The spindle turns on and off just fine under gcode control and M3S18000 sent from the MDI works as expected. Just the software button won’t work. I’m running CM Build 579. 5 Pro. What gives?
I investigated this a bit further. I looked at the status log and I see that the “spindle on” button sends M3S1000. This I believe is much too slow for the spindle so it just sits there. See the attached log. Anyone else having this experience? Any solutions?

I believe that is how my VFD spindle acts as well, but since I rarely use that button I never put much thought into the issue or investigated it further. I would think a simple update to carbide motion would fix it if its simply a matter of sending to low of spindle speed value.
All that being said I don’t know if C3D has a reason or not as to why they chose S1000, when at least S8000 would be needed to activate the VFD.
