If I were to run a regular contour job with an end mill and decided afterwards that it should be deeper, I would go back to CC and set my start depth to my previous max depth (minus a few thousandths) and set my new max depth deeper. Would this work for V-carve? Wasn’t sure because of the ramping so I just reset my max depth and re-ran it with four hours of ghost cutting…
When I need to re-run for a greater depth, I do it by increasing the depth of cut to make a single pass, and then either setting zero lower, or decreasing the thickness of the stock.
Thanks, I’ll give that a go. My sleepy v2 just fell apart and caused a ruckus, so I had to stop anyway.
What happened was the glue on the magnets on the bottom side gave out on three of them all at once. I use magnets a lot for props and I have an idea for v3. Put the recesses for the magnets on the other side so they’re pulling through the plastic. That way they’re not depending on the glue which only needs to make sure they don’t fall out. You’d probably need to double the thickness of the magnets since they’d be separated by a couple millimeters.
