Stepper noise and connection issue

I just set my Shapeoko 3 XL back up after a move. When I power it up, the y axis steppers come on, they sound like they’re trying to move but nothing is happening. At the same time, I cannot connect Carbide Motion to the machine. I hope I’m missing something basic.

Were the belts and stepper motors attached while the machine was moved?

Could the machine have shifted position, causing the stepper motors to act as generators pushing current back up to the controller?

If so, you probably need a new controller.

In any case, contact us at support@carbide3d.com and we’ll do our best to assist.

The machine was disassembled, for a couple of months. It was reassembled in the new spot. So I’m not really sure what could have happened.

I’ll send an email to support too, thanks Will.
