I am making a 3D carve of an island using an STL from TopoMiller. Annoyingly, the long axis of the island is not nicely east-west and so I’d like to rotate the model by a set amount so that I can also make a North arrow and rotate it by the same amount and v-carve it into the water. When I click on any of the transformation buttons, however, nothing happens. I can freehand the rotation by dragging the corners of the model, but there isn’t a snap-to or any other way I can figure out to constrain the rotation to a known amount.
I’m running Carbide Create PRO build 842 on Arch Linux using Wine, so I am running an unsupported OS, but every other feature works just fine so I find it hard to believe that’s the only feature that doesn’t quite work.
So, I’m either reporting a bug or requesting a feature. Not sure which.
Adjacent topic: when I move or rotate the model off of the stock, the model gets permanently truncated. I wish it would just get hidden when off the stock so I could move it around and then trim it later with a polygon without having to start over if I need to make a later adjustment.
