Strange happenings on my Shapeoko today

I ran a file this afternoon and everything cut fine. Took board off the machine, loaded a new board on , and made an adjustment in the file to compensate for difference in board thickness, reset the zeros, now the spindle won’t start. I have attempted several times to restart the file without the spindle starting. Tried a different file and the spindle starts. Went back to the first file again and spindle will not start in that file.
Anyone seen this problem before?

Can you share the file?

I would except I don’t know how to do it

Use the “Upload” icon:

See:

Having same problem this morning with another file where the router will not start. Will asked me to upload the file but I do not understand how to do that.
The previous file that would not start, after the machine sat overnight, I came back the next day, and without making any changes to the file, the router started.
Since I downloaded the current version of carbide motion (636) and carbide create (V7) there have been several weird things happen, for instance, I went to the same file yesterday and all the letters in the file were all jumbled up.
I am baffled
It is now 1 hour later and I just reopened the file I described above and the letters are all jumbled up AGAIN???

Where do I find the upload icon?

It’s in the toolbar when you make a reply:

Two things to check — how are you saving the file? Make sure to use File | Save — do not use File | Save As V6 File… — text on an arc is not supported in the older file format. Also, make sure that you aren’t opening the file in multiple versions and that you are aware of which version of Carbide Create you are using.

I always save in file/ save, never in the other, I’m only using the CC 743, not switching between different versions. , I always follow same steps.

It’s been couple of hour’s since I put the last post, machine is now running without any file changes to carbide motion
Puzzling

At an impasse again. Loaded a new file and work piece and again router does not start ???
I’ve gone and loaded other files and router will start
Is anyone else experiencing a problem like this?

Upload the file that the router will not start on as @WillAdams suggested.

Is the router connected to the BitRunner or another IOT relay that gets a signal from the Shapeoko PCB? If so, with CM connected to the machine, send M3S12000 thru the MDI screen. The router should start with power to the relay and the router power switch on. If it doesn’t start, or even if it does, gently wiggle the wires where the relay connects to the Shapeoko PCB. Sending M5 will shut the router off.

It is connected to the bit runner

Thank you that worked

This problem cropped up again today. Spindle does not start . I had several days in a row last week that the spindle started ok, now back to square one
Frustration when I have orders to fill

I went back to the machine an hour later and the dang thing started.
No changes were made

Again this morning the spindle will not start

If it’s the connector to the BitRunner there is a good chance that the solder joint that makes the connection from the PCB to that six pin socket is loose. I had to look at mine very closely to see the loose connection on the PCB while wiggling the socket. Another possibility is the wire to pin connection in the plug that goes into that socket. At any rate, you’ll have to look a little closer to identify exactly where the problem is at that connection to make a reliable repair. I ended up replacing my PCB.

What is PCB. Not familiar with the initials

I was cutting a piece just now. Had trouble getting the router to start ( this is a new Makita month and a half old). After several attempts, router finally started, went through 1 tool change, no problem, Second tool change router wouldn’t start

PCB == printed circuit board

(in this context — we don’t discuss polychlorinated biphenyls much here)

Just got off the phone with Eugene from Carbide 3d and were able to diagnose my problem to a setting in carbide create.
Thanks to all who have tried to help solve my issue
