First jog in either X or Y plane works fine (front to back then back to front; or left to right then right to left) works fine as many times as I want to move it - as long as it’s in that plane
Then try to jog in the other plane and from that point on, all jogging goes BOTH X and Y on a 45 degree angle! (So i f I press Up, it goes Back/left…press right it goes right/forward, press left, it goes Left/back, etc.)
Has anyone seen this before?
BTW: I’m sure this isn’t a software problem with CM…it’s probably some kind of $ setting - or something physical…
Check all wiring and connectors and remove the cover from your electronics enclosure and make sure that there aren’t any metal chips in there causing an errant connection.
After 30 minutes or so, power up and test things again — if the problem persists check in with support (I would guess you’d need a new controller).
Will,
Why do you suppose it works fine until I change planes? In other words, after initialization, I can go in EITHER X or Y up and down, or left and right - for as long as I want — no issues…but the first time I try to go in the OTHER plane (x if I went y initially, or y if I went x initially), it starts this strange behavior.
If it was a mechanical issue or a short circuit, that wouldn’t make sense. I’ll try powering down and unplugging for a while…but it’s strange that it was working fine last week and just started upon power up this afternoon.
The only other thing I did between the last time and now, was run my laser using Lightburn. I had to change $32 and $30…as always, to make that work - and it worked fine…then I had to change them back, which I did…
FYI: The quick actions work
and immediately following a quick action (like N, S, E, W, move to current x,y, etc.) the jog key will work again…but only once. Then it starts failing.
