Using Carbide Create Pro v6 constantly freezes while calculating the rough toolpath at 45-50%. I use three different PC’s and all of them exhibit this issue. Usually force quitting and restarting CCP a few times gets it to chug through. Can’t even delete the path because it’s stuck calculating.
Anyone else experience this? Have a workaround?
Can we not calculate toolpaths with every single little tweak, maybe a “calculate button”.
It occurs with any of the files I have been working on and different bits/settings. At least 50% of the time it freezes running 50-60% processor usage (I’ve left it up to two hours with no progress, killed it and reloaded to have it work immediately), if it does complete then it’s fine recalculating any changes with that session. Additionally, I have been able to create a second identical roughing pass toolpath and have it complete calculating while the original path is still stuck on calculating.
If it will help I will create a sample file, the files I am currently using are proprietary and I cannot post them.
@WillAdams & @Symtrips - Where are you all at with this? I experience the same thing all the time, and it’s pretty frustrating. I like the Carbide Create Pro software, but a lot of people I talk to are moving away from this, and moving to the vectric software because of these issues.
Shortly after posting this an update came out for Carbide Create which seems to have addressed the issue. Perhaps the installation I had experienced a compiler error? It’s still mind numbingly slow at calculating roughing passes on my less powerful PC that controls the machine, but it no longer hangs.
