Suggested Process for Flagpole Labels?

Apparently we need to replace the flags that are displayed on Main Street in our small town during holidays such as Veterans Day, etc. Because they are expensive ($100+/piece), the idea is to get donors to purchase a flag with a tag honoring some friend/relative. I got asked about the process of producing these labels which preferably would be a small metal plate attached to the flagpole.

I haven’t done very much metal and my 3XL isn’t the ideal machine for that. Nevertheless, has anyone produced some of these small personalized labels and if so, how?

Thanks.

Maybe talk them into ColorCore. The signs would be more readable from a distance depending on size. Lots of color options to make them pop.

Colorcore gets tricky as the size goes down unless one is using a single line font (or alternative):

I carve a lot of Colorcore but 1/4" is too thick for these labels IMHO. If I go with the etching bit where would I source small metal blanks?

My first thought was something like this

But I think any trophy/plaque nameplate/engraving plate would work

Gravoply could work, 3mm thick. https://www.gravotech.com/
US based company, so availability appears possible.
