Just fished building out a table for my neglected SO3XXL to sit on. Then built a mdf slat spoilboard. The question I have is, should I tram or surface first? What’s the better order of ops?

It’s best to do both.
My preference is to:
- surface the spoilboard
- put a glass plate on the machine
- use that as a reference surface to tram
- then surface again

I have a piece of MDF I bolt down that is big enough for my tram arm. I surface that, tram, then remove it and surface the machine.
