Svg from Inkscape in Carbide Create possible incompatibility

I am using Windows10, with all updates.

I just reinstalled Carbide Create and Inkscape. First, I deleted both Inkscape and Carbide Create, to hope the install is fresh.

I have created new copies of the file with Inkscape 1.0.1 and Carbide Create 514. Similar results. Different sets of tabs were missing this time, but, tabs were missing and the lines from the bottom left to objects still appear after closing the c2d files and reopening the file.

On the new version I attempted to add 15 tabs, but, only 12 tabs show up. The number is 15 because I could only get 3 to appear on the top gasket outer circle, and I hit multiple times trying to insert tabs around the outer edge of that gasket. It only accepted one tab on the outer edge of the top circle.

It seemed to have no problem accepting tabs in the other areas.

It still shows the lines from the bottom left to the images, and those lines were not added by me. They appear after closing the c2d file and reopening the file.

Thanks for looking at the problem.

FYI: for some reason my svg files are not attaching. I have added the svg file 3 times and it is not showing up in the message.

I will try what you suggest in Inkscape and see what happens. I wrote my last message before seeing your latest message (SMILE)

btw there is something that one can do in inkscape that carbide create does not like.

in inkcape you can make a shape that is NOT closed, but you can still give it a “fill” color, and on the screen in inkscspe it will look like a solid shape.

carbide create ignores the fill colors, and will see an open shape and will be grumpy about that.

There’s no reason for a fill in a vector. I’d recommend removing all fills, so you can see what you’re actually sending. Carbide Create, along with many others, are just looking for paths.

Also, your SVGs are there, they’re just tiny:

Neiferreri and every one else, thank you. That was very helpful, and I feel a bit embarrassed, but, very appreciative.

It is very true, I should have removed the colors. I had used the colors to verify that everything was correct in design as I stacked some ot the items together to check design. I should have thought to remove the colors.

It makes great sense that I should have everything on one layer. I was using multiple layers to move things around during stacking. In the future, after moving and checking, I will remember to move everything to one layer, ungroup content, assure object have been converted to paths and simplify in Inkscape.

Your help has been invaluable, I would have never smarted up without your comments (SMILE). I would have continued to repeat the same errors and bang my head against the wall (SMILE).

Last, thanks for pointing out I can adjust the size of the svg files in this forum messaging. it was defaulting to 13x13, very small. Now, I see how that can be adjusted (SMILE). That is great.
